On June long weekend Jenny Crossley came to Sydney to teach a few of us girls AKA "The Etching Wenches".
We all stayed on my farm in Yarramalong Valley, NSW Central Coast. As a thank you gift from the ladies, they all make me a mini mixed media collage, based on the ideas in the latest Stampington Apprentice Magazine. I was so surpised and grateful for their kind gestures. Each one of them is a work of art. I has taken me a few weeks to work out how best to display/frame them, as I wanted to do justice to them all. I thought I would do a photo tranfer of us all in the centre of the wooden frame which I painted with gesso, on the wooden frame and on the glass centre. Then arranged each little canvas around the outside.
I thank each and everyone of you ladies for your time you put into making them.

Here we all are proudly showing off our etched necklace that we learned how to make with Jenny Crossley. This was a GOLDEN GEL MEDIUM transfer. I had the frame which had a sealed glass centre with a photo that I didnt like (bought eons ago when I only wanted the frame). I could not get the picture out, so I painted two coats of Gesso over the glass. Once that was dry I did my tranfer onto the gesso, not expecting it to adhere or work! I was pleasantly surprised how well it turned out.

I was so lucky to find these wonderful vintage metal items on Ebay! They just arrived in my post box!
I could not believe it only cost me $20 for the lot! Not sure what I will do with them yet, but at the moment I am enjoying looking at them.
p.s. The silver tray did not come with them!

Chunky Tag Book Tags

Being invited for the first time to join a Chunky Book Tag Swap by the lovely Rob Keogh was very exciting indeed. I was a bit nervous as I didnt want to disappoint the other 17 talented ladies in the group.

Above are 7 of the tags I have so far, with 11 more to come. It is so exciting to go to the mailbox and find a beautiful work of art tag in there!

Poppets..... Claudine Hellmuth style.

On June 20th I decided to make a bit of a variation to our usual family member's birthday dinners. It was my DD's 24th birthday. and gave everyone a little project to make.... a Claudine Hellmuth poppet project. The ages ranged between 18 - 86years... a bit of challenge for some, but in the end everyone had fun and created their own individual work. All lined up after, we were all very proud of our efforts.
I might add here that I got the encouragement from Kirsty Campion , who recently instructed a class at our recent Etching Wenches Weekend Retreat on June long weekend.
